Flexens Berndt Schalin, CEO of Flexens held a talk on Monday, February 25th at the seminar on the technology Power-to-X, arranged by the World Energy Council Finland.
On Monday, February 25, Flexen’s CEO Berndt Schalin held a talk at the “How to Build a Smart and Flexible Energy System?” seminar arranged by World Energy Council Finland. Representatives of the industry, research institutes and authorities participated in the seminar. The main theme of the day was the roadmap for “Power-to-X”, that is, the production of synthetic sustainable fuels with renewable electricity. This technology is a prerequisite for being able to create an entire energy system that works on 100% renewables, and in the long run also particularly interesting for shipping and aviation.
Power-to-X a prerequisite
Berndt’s presentation focused on the role that the Power-to-X technology plays in order to create a new affordable 100% renewable energy system for the Åland Islands in the “Smart Energy Åland” demo.
The keynote speaker of the day was Christoph Menzel of the World Energy Council Germany whose presentation addressed the roadmap for theglobal Power-to-X industry. Other speakers were the Minister for the Environment and Energy, Kimmo Tiilikainen, ABB’s CEO Matti Vaattovaara and Professor Annukka Santasalo-Aarnio from Aalto University.
